This will probably be the best page you’ve ever read. This page will tell you how to meet Jesus and why you need to get to know Him. Knowing Jesus is THE essential part of becoming a Christian. But, becoming a Christian won’t be easy because you now have an enemy. Even though I’ve doubted Him, yelled at Him, been disappointed with Him; Jesus is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Christianity isn’t about religion and rules, it’s about your relationship with Christ.
God’s Purpose
God desires that we experience an abundant life.
This would include such things as love, peace, purpose, and fulfillment. He also desires that we experience both abundant life now and eternal life with Him.
Our Problem
But we have a problem. God did not create us like a robot who would automatically love and have fellowship with Him in return. He gave us a will and the freedom of choice. Therefore, not only do we have the ability to make good choices, but we also have the ability to make evil choices and sin.
Each of us will die physically, and after we die physically, we will face judgment. So we can see that when we look at the condition of a person apart from God, it isn’t very encouraging. We have all sinned at one time or another, and the penalty of sin is eternal death (separation from God). Also we see that the consequences of our sin bring about the judgment of God.
God’s Remedy
In spite of the fact that we have turned our backs on God and have disobeyed Him, He has provided a remedy so that we can know Him personally. He wants to give us both abundant life and eternal life. Only one bridge can cross the gulf that exists between a person and God, and that bridge is Jesus Christ, through His death on the cross. God sacrificed His son to pay the price for all of our sins and bring us reconciliation to Him.
Our Response
Christ has made it possible for us to cross over to God’s side and experience the full life that He wants us to have. But we are not automatically on God’s side. In order to receive the gift of Christ’s sacrifice for our salvation and cross over to God’s side, we must believe Him and trust Him.
For by Grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. – Ephesians 2: 8-9
GOD’S CHARACTER – God is the originator and sustainer of all that exists. God is Holy (Perfect), God is Eternal, God is Judge and God is Love. �(Write down the phrase God is ____________. Ask them to put description(s) of God’s character in the blank. Make sure that Holy, Eternal, Judge and Love are included.)
MAN HAS A PROBLEM – Man does not measure up to God’s Character. God is Holy- Man is a sinner. God is Eternal- Man dies. God is Judge- Man is ��under the judgment of God. (Look up the verses Rom 3:23; 6:23 and Hebrews 9:27)
GOD HAS A SOLUTION TO MAN’S PROBLEM – God is Love. God demonstrated His love by sending His Son to die on the cross for our sins (Look at Romans 5:8). Christ the God-Man is the mediator between God and Man. (See I Timothy 2:5)
MAN’S RESPONSE TO GOD’S SOLUTION – In order to receive the benefit of God’s Solution everyone must receive Christ and believe in Him. (John 1:12) Everyone must pray to the Lord and seek His salvation (Romans 10:13).
CROSSING OVER TO ETERNAL LIFE – Hear the Message, Believe in Christ (to believe is to entrust yourself to) and He promises (1) Eternal Life, (2) No Judgment and (3) that we will Cross Over from Death (Man’s Side) to Life (God’s Side.) John 5:24
CONCLUSION: Will you cross over from death to life? Call on the name of the Lord to be saved (Romans 10:13) Pray to God a prayer like this. God you are holy, eternal and the judge of all people. I am a sinner under the sentence of death and under your judgment. I believe that Jesus came to save me from eternal judgment. Father, I put my faith and trust in Christ’s death to save me from the penalty of my sin. I praise you for your love for me and for the free gift of forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

- Find a bible-believing church
- Read the Bible (John is a great place to start) but get a good, easy to read translation such as New Living Translation or Today’s New International Version (TNIV) or The Message
- Pray – talk to God as though He’s your friend, because He is
- Find other Christian friends to get involved with.
- Read good Christian books
- Surrender every area of your life to Christ and allow Him to change you
